Luxury is primary a status symbol and goes in cyles - brands goes in and out of fashion, new designers are the latest hot thing, something thats happened in fashion is the flip from 90s to 2000s fashion which isn’t as high end and far more laid back and retro brands will be sort after
Prices went up and went up a lot. Even luxury is impacted by price hikes
Dupes are now very good - even influencers will have fakes as people struggle to tell the difference
Theres now a secondary market for Hermes bags and has removed some of the mystique from it
There are so many other items that is applied to status, the status applied to luxury and high end fashion (and handbags) seems to be lowering.
Importantly the bifurcation of social networks and influences in our lives have really driven Micro trends on social media, so even if you wanted to see a trend others are likelihood is you won’t. If we swapped phones and feeds we would see the tiniest of % of the same content now. Luxury fashion has been impacted like many other industries.
